When Ralph Lauren decided to open the brand’s own coffee shop in 2014, he wanted to give customers the opportunity to take a moment out of their busy days and simply enjoy each other’s company. Since then, Ralph’s Coffee has become a community mainstay in New York City, cozily operating out of a historic building on the corner of Madison Ave. and 72nd, and has expanded across the Big Apple, the East Coast at large, Asia and Europe. Yet multiple coffee shop locations have not deterred the lines of curious visitors that wrap around the buildings, including at the newest—and first—West Coast operation within Newport Beach’s Fashion Island.

Today marked both the coffee shop’s grand debut and the all-new Ralph Lauren storefront, where the community showed up in droves for steaming cups of USDA organic brews, vibrant green matcha lattes and classic American desserts, such as soft serve and oatmeal raisin cookies, that feel as timeless as the Ralph Lauren brand itself. Nestled between the mall’s koi pond and atrium lawn, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes for the perfect “third place” before shopping the latest across multiple Ralph Lauren labels (including Polo Ralph Lauren, Double RL, Women’s Collection and Men’s Purple Label) in its adjoining store.

On its facade, the shop leans more toward a “coastal Mediterranean” aesthetic through soaring arches, deep-set windows and wrought-iron accents, while the inside aligns with Ralph’s Coffee’s signature design choices, such as exposed timber beams and warm wood flooring. A white checkout counter stands out against the artisan green tile along the back walls, and a punchy geometric floor pattern marries the two hues, making for an eye-catching statement. Curated art pieces and photography strewn throughout lend the new atmosphere its home-like, lived-in appeal.
If you’re a fan of Ralph’s Coffee already, you’ll be able to shop its exclusive merchandise available on-site, including signature totes, graphic tees and retro-inspired mugs bearing the same logo for when you want to enjoy a cup of joe at home. Though once you do try the beloved vanilla latte, you may make a visit here a daily occurrence!
Ralph’s Coffee is located at 401 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, and is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
