The Premiere Dinner marked the first night of San Diego Museum of Art’s signature Art Alive weekend.
THE PARTY San Diego Museum of Art’s annual Art Alive weekend is always a cause for celebration, and its black-tie Premiere Dinner is one of the most highly anticipated arty parties of the year. Nearly 100 of S.D.’s avid art patrons each contributed a minimum of $3,000, helping to make the weekend a smashing success. Total raised: $1.3 million.
THE SCENE Leading sponsor Debbie Turner and principal sponsor Toni Bloomberg were among the philanthropists making the scene.
THE HIGHLIGHTS Attendees got a first look at Art Alive’s famed John M. and Sally B. Thornton rotunda decor installation, FloraMorphic: A Sky of Colors, designed by Carlos Franco of Green Fresh Florals. The signature hall was strewn with nearly 20,000 flowers—pure petal power.
