9th Annual Glide Legacy Gala
The next generation of young professionals joined GLIDE President and CEO Karen Hanrahan, GLIDE Co-founders Rev. Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani, and the GLIDE family in supporting GLIDE’s half-century legacy of love, leadership and community at the Ninth Annual GLIDE Legacy Gala on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at August Hall in San Francisco. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed dancing and beats by DJ KingMost and musical performances from the internationally renowned GLIDE Ensemble and The Change Band, drinks and delicious hors d'oeuvres provided by San Francisco's hottest spots, games and more.
Past Legacy Award honorees have included Jeremy Affeldt, Renel Brooks Moon, Chip Conley, Vernon Davis, Dave Eggers, Chris Gardner, California Attorney General (now U.S. Senator) Kamala Harris, Chinaka Hodge, Felicia Horowitz, Van Jones, Ronnie Lott, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Shaka Senghor, Shiza Shahid, Andres Torres, and Kristi Yamaguchi.
The GLIDE Legacy Gala raises funds for programs of the GLIDE Foundation so that GLIDE can continue to provide innovative and comprehensive services to the poor and marginalized in San Francisco. Tickets were $90 for general admission, $160 for VIP. A VIP reception from 7:00 to 8:00 pm included a meet-and-greet with Karen Hanrahan, Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani along with 2018 Legacy Award recipients, as well as premium access to specialty cocktails and small bites.
