SF Arts Commission: Passport 2014
On October 26th San Francisco’s favorite DIY art collecting event returned to The Mission's "Calle 24" Latino Cultural District. Friends and family gathered and participated in creating their own limited edition art book by collecting artist-designed stamps in a customized “passport” journal. Emerging and established Bay Area artists stamped at neighborhood businesses that help define the 24th Street Corridor such as 24th St. and York Mini Park, Brava Theater, Mission Skateboard, El Tecolote/Acción Latina, Foxglove, Diju Jewelry, Passport Outpost: Wise Sons Deli, Pig & Pie, Adobe Books & Arts Cooperative, Sugarlump, Luz de Luna, Galería de la Raza, La Victoria Bakery, Explorist International, Modern Times Bookstore Collective, and Precita Eyes Mural Arts. Some of our famed, Bay Area artists included Juana Alicia, Fred Alvarado, Val Britton, Enrique Chagoya, Jessica Hisch & Erik Marinovich, Kara Maria, Ranu Mukherjee, Sirron Norris, Kelly Ording, Victor De La Rosa, Jessica Sabogal, Alice Shaw, Brian Singer, Chris Sollars, Ruby Neri, and Imin Yeh. The Passport 2014 After Party was hosted by The San Francisco's Art Commission at Galeria de la Raza on 2857 24th St. with musical contributions by Dj Mano and libations from Pop's Bar.
