Ashton Kutcher Drops a Truth Bomb on the Uber Scandal

"What is so wrong about digging up dirt on shady journalist?"

This morning, actor Ashton Kutcher set off an internet flash fire when he tweeted up a storm about the ongoing scandal in which an Uber executive threatened to spy on journalists. Kelso—sorry, Kutcher—came to the defense of the embattled company. What few people realized, however, was that Kutcher was in reality quoting from a script used in his hit TV program, That 70s Show. As a public service, we're reproducing the full scene below.

INTERIOR: FORMAN BASEMENT

Hyde: Okay, I thought about it. And I'm going to the disco! Just on the off chance that they might mix up a little rock 'n roll, man.

Kelso: Yeah? Well, I have something to say. Have you guys ever wondered about ethics in journalism?

Eric: No more for Kelso, he's toasted! Mmm, toast...

[Audience laughter]

Kelso: No, seriously guys, what is so wrong about digging up dirt on a shady journalist?

Hyde: Can we talk about something else, maybe? Like where the heck that toast is?

Fez: Yeah, someone go make toast right now.

[Audience laughter]

Kelso: Rumors span the globe before anyone has an opportunity to defend themselves. Everyone is guilty and then tasked to defend themselves publicly.

Eric: Wow, Kelso, you're such a good media critic, even though you are an investor in the company that you're complaining about the negative coverage of.

Fez: You know what else is negative? We don't have any toast. That's what is bringing me down.

[Audience laughter]

Kelso: Questioning the source needs to happen... Always! So as long as journalists are interested and willing to print half truths as facts, yes we should question the source.

Eric: See, that's so smart, man! I need to go write this down. (Moves to the stairs.)

Fez: If you're going upstairs, could you get me that toast?

[Audience laughter]
