Chef Alex Hong’s Italian-influenced pop-up gets a permanent home in the former Nico spot. In the past, prix fixe highlights have included modern, seasonal takes on crudo and fresh pasta. Diners at the brick-and-mortar can expect a full à la carte menu as well.

The first Bay Area outpost of this New York City–based burger-and-crinkle-cut-fry phenomenon will be located in a Palo Alto shopping mall. The fast-casual chain is known for its long lines and the crisp crust of its smash-griddled burger patties (pictured above).

Great news for fans of the dearly departed Ferry Building zeppole stand, Girl Friday, and the even more dearly departed food truck Go Streatery: DanVy Vu is back, and she’s opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant. The multicultural menu will include a few Go Streatery favorites, like braised oxtails and grits.
