Keeping the love alive, even past Valentine's Day.

Was Valentine's Day kind of a bust? That's alright, there's still plenty of time to get it right in your relationship. Whether you’re looking for something classy, mellow, or adventurous, we have you covered. Check out the three getaway options below.

For: The thrifty twosome
Go to: The Burlington Hotel, Port Costa
This cheeky (and reportedly haunted) former brothel in Port Costa found new life a while back, with a major renovation that made it a no-brainer for an affordable, low-key night away from the city. Just a 45-minute drive from S.F., the hotel features 19 eccentric Victorian rooms that range in size and color (think cool mint walls or burgundy carpeting). The hotel’s café is half the reason for the drive, with house-made pastries, local honey, and tables overlooking the sunny garden (breakfast is included with a night’s stay).

For: The animal in you
Go to: B. Bryan Preserve, Point Arena
Stay here and you’ll be sharing Mendocino’s rolling hills with zebras, giraffes, and antelope. The preserve, a 110-acre refuge for African hoof animals, hosts tours for people of all ages, so you can bring the kids if that’s your style. The reserve has three private cottages, so you can spend the night and pretend you’re on an African safari. Tip: The Bridge Cottage is near a pond and has a private hot tub.

For: The recluse couple
Go to: Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur
There are few, if any, dreamier perches on the California Coast than the Post Ranch Inn. Towering atop the craggy Big Sur bluffs, looking down at the Pacific from 1,200 feet, this is the epitome of a bucket-list spot. Pick your room based on your desired geography: “Cliff” for geometric rooms with suspended decks dangling over the bluffs; “Peak” for monumental mountain views and wood-burning fireplaces; “Tree” for, yes, tree houses elevated off the ground and a skylight to stargaze from your bed.
