Police arrested Pearce, 41, last night. He's currently incarcerated on $215,000 bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney next week. Pearce faces five counts relating to the possession of more than 600 images of a person under 18 engaged in or simulating sexual conduct. Multiple attempts to reach the consultant have been unsuccessful.

Pearce, an attorney, former Board of Supervisors legislative aide for Gonzalez, and principal of Left Coast Communications, ran the "Run, Ed, Run" campaign in 2012 which was aimed at inducing the then-appointed Mayor Ed Lee to run for a full term in his own right. Clients have included Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Supervisor Christina Olague, among several others.

We'll update this breaking story as we learn more.
