Six Brunches to Take Your Mom to This Mother's Day

So many mimosas. Just so many mimosas.

Park Tavern

Park Tavern

Mother's Day and brunch go together like the Fourth of July and grilling or New Year's Eve and champagne. Some pairs just make sense. Many of the best restaurants fill up fast, so even though the holiday is on May 10th, it's getting time to book those reservations now. Here, six spots to heft a mimosa and have some eggs Benedict with mom.

Cafe Claude
Order a croque madame for your mère at the French bistro nestled into San Francisco's downtown, which will be featuring live jazz, a three-course menu, and drinks like mimosas and kir royales.

The Berkeley spot in the Hotel Shattuck will be offering a brunch buffet from 10 am-2 pm that features smoked trout stuffed tomatoes, homemade gnocchi, a chocolate fountain, and bottomless mimosas for $65 per person.

Foreign Cinema
Meditate with your family and loved ones on the twists and turns that life has to offer as Richard Linklater's Before Sunset plays. While doing so, slurp Miyagi oysters from Point Reyes and eat the house made organic "pop tarts" with rasberry or blackberry.

Mason Pacific
The neighborhood brasserie on the cable-car line located on the corner of Mason and Pacific is offering an a la carte brunch menu from 10 am-2 pm.

Park Tavern
The American tavern from Anna Weinberg, Chef Jennifer Puccio and Dave Stanton has a menu of Mother's Day classics, like French toast with rhubarb and cherry compote, avocado toast, and eggs Benedict made with Early Girl tomatoes. Bonus: Burn off that cholesterol by walking around Washington Square park, just across the street.

A16 Rockridge
Brunch at this Italian restaurant in Oakland includes deviled eggs with house cured anchovies, California king salmon served with English peas and mint, and a cocktail menu that encompasses drinks made with pisco, sloe gin, and rosemary-infused vodka.
