Storecaster: Retail Arrivals

Shop these new San Francisco stores this weekend.

With 10 stores scattered throughout SoCal, activewear brand Lorna Jane—the Aussie challenger to Lululemon—unveils its first San Francisco outpost this month (2090 Union St., at Webster St., 415-563- 8485). For those who live in their yoga duds, the label introduces 70 to 100 new sweat-wicking, shrink-resistant styles each month.

Nars, the French cosmetics brand responsible for gussying up the runways for Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, opens its first S.F. boutique this month (2050 Fillmore St., near California St.). Though the black and white backdrop is demure, the brand is best known for cheekily named, richly pigmented shades like Manhunt and Orgasm.

Wedding whites—plus persimmon and scarlet hues from the spring 2013 collection—pop against graphite concrete floors and charcoal gray walls in Vera Wang’s moody new bridal salon (180 Geary St., at Stockton St., 4th Fl., 415-400-0370), which overlooks Union Square.

Wine country gets a rustic new general store in the Mercantile Shop (motto: “Stuff we like. Goods you need”), the brainchild of a bar owner and a stylist from New York (333 Center St., near Matheson St., Healdsburg, 707-473-0617). that means slouchy-cool basics, small-batch condiments (pinot noir jam, anyone?), and handcrafted jewelry offset by salvaged wood.

Feeling active? Well swing by Lorna Jane and spring for a new activewear wardrobe. Yoga enthusiasts will love this new store nestled in the heart of Union Street. If you're not in a sporty mood, then head to Nars to freshen your makeup look for spring or thumb through some of Vera Wang's jaw dropping designs at her new Union Square boutique.
