If you have a makeup obsession, but that place with all the crowds and primping stations that never seem to have any makeup remover (you know, rhymes with Gomorrah) gives you a panic attack, head to this serene stretch of Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights for a leisurely stroll through an impressive cluster of brands and one fantastic spa.

1. Space NK Apothecary

This London transplant carries a wealth of high-end beauty, skincare, and hair products such as Becca, Laura Mercier, and Hourglass.

2. MAC

Beloved by drag queens and other people who prefer not to fade into the background, this brand is famous for its shockingly pigmented offerings, from neon lip shades to eye shadow hues cribbed from tropical birds.

3. Nars

This popular line is noted for its subtle and feminine shades (even if they have saucy names, like the Orgasm blush), creamy lipsticks, and sumptuous brushes.
