While Yountville’s The French Laundry closes for renovations (and recovers from a six-digit theft of wine), chef Thomas Keller is going to be spending some time hitting the golf course. Well, to be fair, he might also do a little cooking as well.

Keller announced today that he’d be helming Ad Lib, an American-food-focused pop-up at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, which boasts not one but two golf courses. The menu includes New American-inflected classics such as Caesar salad, steak tartare, root vegetable pot pie, and broiled Alaskan King crab legs; check out some pictures of the food in the slideshow above.

“It’s simple American ... approachable food,” Michael Wallace, sous chef at the French Laundry and now chef de cuisine at Ad Lib, told the Chronicle’s Inside Scoop. He’s just been named the chef de cuisine at Ad Lib.

Ad Lib opens January 21 and doesn't have a closing date set yet.
