Art after dark takes on new meaning at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where the annual Art Bash returns April 29 as one of the city’s most coveted nights out. Equal parts gala and late-night cultural takeover, the event transforms the museum into a multi-floor experience, with site-specific installations, pop-up activations and live performances unfolding across its galleries, terraces and public spaces.

The night kicks off with an elevated dinner and live auction inside the museum, where guests dine among the art before bidding on standout works. From there, the main party takes over, opening the full museum for after-hours access—expect DJ sets curated in partnership with Stern Grove Festival, specialty cocktails and a steady flow of performances and immersive moments woven throughout the building. A late-night ticket tier offers a more accessible entry point without sacrificing the scene, making it easy to join once the party is in full swing.

Beyond the energy, Art Bash delivers real impact, raising critical funds for SFMOMA’s exhibitions, education initiatives and community programming. The result is a night that feels equal parts cultural event and social highlight—drawing collectors, artists and a style-forward crowd for one of San Francisco’s most dynamic evenings.
