“There is often no other element in the design of a room that makes such an impact or adds so much to the space as custom window treatments,” says Martyn Lawrence Bullard. With this philosophy in mind, the celebrated interior designer has partnered once again with The Shade Store to launch a sophisticated new collection of fabrics for drapery, Roman shades and cornices. Inspired by the serene beauty of the Palm Springs desert, this latest offering emphasizes neutral tones and texture-rich materials, complementing the vibrant designs of Bullard’s debut collection.

Reflecting on his inspiration, Bullard explains, “I have always been attracted to pattern and bold color, but there is also such beauty in its absence. Looking out from my villa in Palm Springs, I found beauty in the midcentury architecture and the wild desert atmosphere. The textures, tones and feel of this collection capture the adventurous spirit of this legendary place and its timeless essence.” The result is a range of luxe fabrics that balance character and charm with versatility, showcasing Bullard’s signature blend of artistry and craftsmanship.

Standout styles include Desert Tweed, with its Chanel-inspired texture; Andreas, an abstract nod to Kandinsky and Mondrian; Mirador, reminiscent of the desert’s undulating sands; and Cactus Weave, a tribute to the understated luxury of 1960s Coachella Valley interiors. Each fabric exemplifies Bullard’s love for natural weaves and 20th-century design influences.

“Martyn’s ability to reimagine design is unparalleled,” says Ian Gibbs, co-founder and chief creative officer of The Shade Store. “This neutral-focused collection is both fresh and timeless, redefining the role of window treatments in interior design.”
