VIPs and DC’s superchic set came out for midwinter’s Dancing After Dark at Dock5 at Union Market.
THE PARTY Sweating on the dance floor in the middle of winter? Well, absolutely! The Junior Council of Children’s National Health System celebrated the 11th annual Dancing After Dark at Dock5 at Union Market. More than 450 guests boogied the night away after a luxurious feast of hors d’oeuvres and sweets—including pimento cheese puffs, crab Rangoon, braised pork tostados and bananas Foster French toast—from Occasions Caterers. The signature cocktail of the evening was a French 76, a refreshing blend of Champagne, lemon and vodka. THE PEOPLE VIPs included council co-chairs Paul Grayson and Carolyn Downs, and Dancing After Dark co-chairs Keith Carr and Peter Benziger. An enthusiastic Dr. Bear—the Children’s National mascot—also made a grand appearance, reminding everyone to let their inner child loose. BEST IN SHOW The dance floor was packed and the energy was high during performances by Nightsong Band!
