THE PARTY A vision of white! Over 3,000 Washingtonians donned their elegant whites for the DC edition of Le Diner en Blanc, the world’s largest global pop-up dinner party. At this annual secret affair, diners eagerly await the announcement of the undisclosed location that is only revealed minutes prior to the start of the event. Once disclosed, a sea of white-clad party-goers swarmed Henry Bacon Park, just steps from the Lincoln Memorial, with their gourmet feast and all-white tables and table settings in tow. After guests line up their tables side by side and prepped their over-the-top centerpieces, the commencement of dinner is marked with the waving of cloth napkins as guests toast to an evening of wine, food and celebration.
THE PEOPLE As the name of this Paris-born event suggests, the dress code of the evening was white on white. Guests got creative and showed up in everything from white formal gowns and large white hats to white tuxedos and white top hats. No detail was spared.
BEST IN SHOW When the sun set on the Lincoln Memorial, guests lit sparklers, a Diner en Blanc tradition, to indicate the end of the evening and the start of the dance party. DJ Sabeel Chohan invited the crowd to dance and mingle as the city bid farewell to summer in style.
