What is Uncommon James?
I describe Uncommon James as a lifestyle brand for the modern woman who wants to look and feel her best, while being unapologetically herself. We’re aiming to open in early summer. We’ll have a curated collection of jewelry that we feel is perfect for the Austin customer, along with skincare, candles and fun merch. And, with all of our stores, we will have items specific to that location.
What’s next for you creatively—any new projects or passions you’re exploring?
I’m focused on big activations for Uncommon James right now. We have some surprises this July, coming off of launching men’s jewelry. We just had our first runway moment in Miami Swim Week, and now I’m working on some other fun opportunities for 2027. Up next, I’ll be launching a product line that has some of my recipes in a ready-to-bake mix, making it that much easier for busy moms to create healthy treats and snacks.
What advice would you give to people looking to start their own businesses?
Just go for it. Don’t let negativity get in your way. But I also think it’s important to have a very real conversation with yourself about what you’re about to embark on—owning your own business is not for the faint of heart. It will test you in every way imaginable, but if you have drive, grit, passion, and you feel unstoppable, then you will succeed.
